Washington State Opioid and Overdose Response Plan
Publication Design
Washington State Department of Health
The Opioid and Overdose Response Plan is a collaborative effort of multiple government agencies, tribal governments, health care, academic and civic organizations throughout Washington state. The effects of substance, opioid and stimulant use pose a public health challenge that touches the lives of every Washingtonian. Communities across the state have demanded a coordinated response to the persistent and evolving epidemic of drug-related harm.
This document is the first of its kind for the state of Washington. In 2020, I was assigned this project as one of my very first tasks in my time at the Department of Health. The goal was to create a designed document for the very important work highlighted throughout the plan. The end result was this 42-page publication that became one of the premier documents in the country dealing with the opioid epidemic.
